It's November, and the scent of winter is in the air. On Tuesday, Oct. 31, it was obvious that Western was already preparing for the holiday season.

During the chilly day, workers began stringing power cords on the Giant Sequoia spruce in the front of the Cottage. The power cords will illuminate the tree's famous Western Oregon Holiday Lights.

The Tree Lighting will be Nov. 29.
