Letter to the Editor

Thank you for interest in contributing to the Western Oregon Journal. Please use the form below to submit a letter to the editor. Please note that you must include your full name, email, affiliation (if applicable), phone number, and a valid mailing address.

Letter to the Editor Policy:

The editorial board of the Western Oregon Journal agrees to publish letters written to the editor by students, faculty, staff and community members and will be printed on a first-received basis. Any letters published do not necessarily represent the views of the Western Oregon Journal, its editorial board, employees, advertisers or Western Oregon University.

Letter to the Editor Submission Requirements:

Letters to the editor must be signed with submitter’s name, affiliation (if applicable) and include a physical address, email, and phone number. Letters may be edited for grammar, punctuation and spelling, but never for content. Letters to the editor may be up to 250 words. The Journal reserves the right to run letters to the editor that are over 250 words if space allows for it.


Letters to the editor must be submitted no later than Monday at 12 p.m. in order to run in the paper the following Wednesday. The Western Oregon Journal cannot guarantee the publication of all letters due to space limitations.

Submission Process:

Letters to the editor may be submitted to or in person at the Student Media office located in room 122 of the Werner University Center during scheduled staff and adviser hours.
