“The Signal Season of Dummy Hoy” opens June 1, following the run of A Streetcar Named Desire
The Pentacle Theatre and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes have collaborated to present The Signal Season of Dummy Hoy by Allen Meyer and Michael Nowak, co-directed by Cherie Ulmer and Jeff Brownson. It will show from June 1 to 23. Though the story is fictional, the main character is not; William Ellsworth “Dummy” Hoy was born in Ohio in 1862 and played for several professional baseball teams from 1888 to 1902 which included the Chicago White Sox, Louisville Colonels and the Cincinnati Reds.
