The New Year presented many changes to the Monmouth area. Alright, so maybe most of the changes occurred before 2005, but the changes are still being felt. The most recent addition to Monmouth is the Courtyard Bar & Grill.
While college students have been yearning for a broader selection of restaurants for years, it seems the void is finally being filled. In the past year, two new cafés have been added to the ever-growing list of Monmouth businesses.
The repeal of the law stating that Monmouth must stay a “dry town” ushered in a new era in which bars and grills can reign supreme in an otherwise sleepy college town.
The Courtyard Bar & Grill is one of at least two such additions. The difference between the Courtyard and Rookies is that Courtyard also allows minors.
Though they are still awaiting approval from the Liquor Commission, they still plan on serving minors, as well as offering alcoholic refreshments for those of legal age.
Courtyard Bar & Grill operates between the hours of 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and offers a variety of delectable options able to whet any appetite.
While most restaurants offer french fries with their sandwiches, Courtyard offers a refreshing alternative. Complimenting their main dishes is a choice of different side salads, chips and salsa or the soup of the day.
The Italian Chicken sandwich offers a scrumptious alternative to many of the hot sandwiches on the market. This mouthwatering concoction is served on a French roll with compliments of lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, mozzarella and an irresistible marinara sauce to make it all come together. Sold for the bargain price of $5.95, this sandwich will leave anyone fortunate enough to consume its luscious goodness craving more.
One of the best aspects of Courtyard is the atmosphere. With numerous television sets broadcasting various forms of entertainment, just about every sporting event is sure to be covered. With a plethora of room to spread about, Courtyard is a perfect space to study and grab a bite to eat.
Although there are countless reasons to patronize Courtyard, one of the best motives to visit is the proximity to campus. Less than a block South of campus on Monmouth Avenue, this lovely restaurant offers a refuge from typical study hot spots and lets students expand their minds in a relaxed, food-filled atmosphere.
All in all, Courtyard Bar & Grill provides the best of both worlds: awesome food and a magnificent ambiance, which combine to form one of the best restaurants in Monmouth.
