In addition to ASWOU elections, the Resident Hall Association is currently electing future leaders.

"We have seven positions that we are holding elections for right now," said Amanda Rodino, coordinator of leadership and programs.

The RHA positions include, president, vice president of internal affairs, vice president/national communications coordinator (NCC), administrative finance director, activities director, secretary/webmaster and publicist/historian.

According to Rodino, two of the positions are contested, meaning more than one person is running for the positions. Two people are currently running for vice president/NCC, Rodino said, and three people are running for activities director.

One or no persons are running for all the other positions. "No one is running for VP of internal affairs," said Rodino.

Rodino expects write-ins to fill the empty position. "We will take the person who has the most write-ins and see if they are qualified," she said, "and then see if they are interested in the position."

The RHA executive board, according to Rodino, is a parent organization to the hall government. "They act as a lesion between on-campus students and administration," she said.

Responsibilities include meeting every Monday and Wednesday night during the school year and making decisions on budget and programs.

Danielle Peterson, a current resident of Barnum Hall and RHA Administrative finance director, said she is running for vice president/NCC because she wants students to feel at home in their resident halls.

"I have so much fun as part of RHA," she said, "and I want to bring my current experience to the next executive board."

According to Rodino, the RHA executive board positions are highly rewarding. "These are absolutely wonderful leadership opportunities on our campus," she said.

Voting will take place Monday, April 25 and Tuesday, April 26. Students can vote in Valsetz Dining Hall.
