Graduation is soon approaching for many of the current Western students. There are about 1,200 who are walking during commencement, and the rest of the graduates have opted not to walk. Graduation is scheduled for June 11, 2005 at 11 a.m. And, according to factuality adviser Mark Baldwin, the graduation program analyst, there are some rather interesting facts about the class of 2005:
Age:
Oldest graduate: 58-years-old
Youngest graduate: 20-years-old
Gender:
Female graduates: 61.9 percent
Male graduates: 37.7 percent
Graduating with Honors based on GPA for the Cum Laude:
80 people graduating with the Cum Laude (Latin for "With Praise")
56 people graduating with the Magna Cum Laude (Latin for "With Great Praise")
49 people graduating with the Summa Cum Laude (Latin for "With Highest Praise")
Receiving the Cum Laude is based on GPA average:
3.52-3.64 GPA = Cum Laude
3.65-3.79 GPA = Magna Cum Laude
3.80-4.00 GPA = Summa Cum Laude
