The Western Runnin’ Wolves rose to the occasion for the 2004-2005 season.

After being picked by GNAC coaches to finish last in the conference, Western proved critics wrong by earning winning overall and GNAC records and a fifth place conference finish.  The Wolves were 16-11 overall and 10-8 in the GNAC.

Western was led all season by the hustle and scrappy play of junior Kevin Tyner, and seniors Evan Kieling and Dave Brautigam.  For their efforts, Tyner and Kieling were named second-team All-GNAC.   Head Coach Tim Hills was also named GNAC Co-Coach of the Year for his guidance of the squad.

Hills won’t return next season as the Wolves’ leader.  He resigned in May to take the head coaching position at Northwest Nazarene University, a GNAC foe.  Hills had a 47-34 record at Western, and an overall record of 441-393 in 26 seasons.  Assistant Coach Craig Stanger guides the team until a replacement is named.
