Wolves Soccer splits games over the weekend

On Friday Oct. 19, the Wolves were able to scare the No. 2 Seattle University Redhawks, forcing a scoreless game into overtime. The Redhawks scored in minute 94, after the wolves held them
scoreless despite 17 shots, eight of them on goal. Western's defense kept the Redhawks scoreless in regulation for only the second time this season.
On Sunday Oct. 21, the Wolves squared off against Montana State University (MSU) Billings. The Wolves went up one to nothing 36 minutes into the game. Montana State scored at 39 and 53 minutes in to make the score two to one. As time crept past 70 minutes, Chelsie O'Neill was able to put in a shot off of a rebound caused by Maggie Kuzmer that tied the game. During overtime the Wolves were able to defeat MSU Billings with an unassisted goal by Erica Hibbard from 20 yards out. The loss gives the Redhawks an 8-8 record for the year and sends the Wolves into this week's matchup with Central Washington on a winning note.
In the matchup against Central Washington, the Wolves face a 3-7-1 team that is still stinging from a 3-0 loss to top ranked Seattle Pacific. The Wolves are hosting the game at noon on the soccer field between the baseball and softball fields. Come out on Saturday and see who survives the battle of Wolves versus
