On Saturday, Feb. 9 the Western Oregon Cheerleading squad traveled to Portland, Ore. to perform an exhibition at Oregon's High School championship event. The Wolves were invited to the event in late January and had two weeks to put together a routine to perform in front of high school teams that had been practicing their routines all school year. Under head coach Kristi Leon the Wolves established a stunt and dance routine.

When the Wolves arrived at Portland's Memorial Coliseum they were able to watch and warm up with the high school teams. Leon and the squad performed their routine in front of the high school cheerleaders and their families. The Wolves hoped to show the fun their team has at practices and games.

According to Leon, "We go out to have fun and cheer on our Western athletes."

During their performance, the Wolves hit nearly every stunt with only one sequence not sticking.

The Wolves showcased their talent and enthusiasm when, while the women were dancing a routine in front, the men held some impromptu, old-school dancing behind them. The improvisation helped to win the audience over and contributed to the successful of the performance. •
