It's the year of the Rat! Western's Chinese New Year Celebration fell a few days after the Feb. 7, 2008's calendar day for the festival, but there wasn't a damper on the fun had by all. As the festival commenced everyone was welcomed to fill their plates with an array of cultural cuisine ranging from pot-stickers (pork, beef, and egg, tofu) rice: (white, fried) and other fares. A lineup of musical and dance peformances offered insight into Chinese culture and familiar sights for many of the international students on campus. The Chinese New Year celebration was hosted by Western's International office.
