The Wolves played a four game home series against the Wildcats of Central Washington on a beautiful April weekend that seemed to be made for baseball. The Wolves are continuing their ten game winning streak, squeaking out two one-run victories in the Saturday series, placing the Wolves comfortably atop a 12 game winning streak.

Saturday's first game looked like it would be over as quickly as it started when senior centerfielder Dylan Bruck knocked in four runs by hitting a grand slam over the left field fence in the second inning. Unfortunately, the Wildcats hung in there, threatening in the third with a three run home run and pulling within one run of the Wolves by the seventh inning. Starter Mike Eisenhauer completed the eighth and Jared Neyens came on in the ninth to close the game.

The Wildcats drew first blood in Saturday's second game with an RBI double that cost the Wolves four innings to get back on the board. After the Wolves tied it in the fourth, Central Washington came back in the fifth scoring an RBI single to take the lead. The Wolves would answer in the sixth: scoring two runs with the winning run off Taylor Mieras' squeeze bunt. Wolves ace Ben Shivers came on in the eight inning and pitched two perfect innings to finish the game. Saturday belonged to the Wolves.

At the start of Sunday's series, the first game looked like it would be another day for the Wolves as Western scored four runs in five innings. The Wildcats came out on top in the sixth, scoring six runs on five hits and two walks as the lead shifted in favor of Central Washington. The Wolves never recovered and went down 8-4. Sunday's second game of the double header started with Central Washington gaining a 4-1 advantage after four innings. Western Oregon head coach Jeremiah Robbins was ejected in the bottom of the fourth on a controversial double play, ending the inning and lighting the spark that the Wolves needed to get them back in the game.

In the fifth, the Wolves fought back with a three run inning thanks to Bruck's bunt that Central Washington pitcher, Jordan Moore, threw into right field allowing Eric Renander and Cesar Lopez to score. In the sixth inning, the Wolves would take the lead on an Renander RBI single with two outs. Wildcat reliever, Travis Bertholf balked home the go-ahead run, ultimately sealing Central Washington's fate and recovering Western's pride. Western beat the Wildcats 6-5 to take three of four games from GNAC rival Central Washington.
