Ashley Potter and Dan Sprinkle both competed in the finals of their respective events at the NCAA National Championships on Friday, May 25. Potter took 10th place in the women's triple jump and Sprinkle finished 11th in the men's 3000m steeplechase.

Potter was the ninth seed in the event after leaping an NCAA auto-qualifying standard of 40-9 (12.42m), which she earned at the GNAC Outdoor Championships. That time set the GNAC meet and conference records.

Sprinkle earned his spot into finals of the steeple chase after placing third in his heat with a time of 9:36.86. That time ranked him sixth in the preliminaries and earned him a spot in the finals.

Potter recorded a distance of 39-10 (12.14m) on her first attempt of the day. She missed the cut to move to the finals and receive three more attempts, by .07m (about 2.75 inches).

Sprinkle took 11th place in the finals of the men's 3000m steeple with a time of 9:41.35. He reached the finals after finishing third in his heat and sixth overall in the prelims on Thursday.

On this final day of the NCAA National Championships the Wolves had both Amanda Schumaker and Seabre Church in the javelin competition. Schumaker is the third seed in the women's field after earning an NCAA auto-qualifying standard with a throw of 158-11 (48.43m). Schumaker defeated the No. 1 seed, Brittany Aanstad of Seattle Pacific, at the GNAC Outdoor Championships.

Church is the 11th seed in the field with a season-best throw of 142-1 (43.31m). She placed third at the GNAC Championships with a throw of 137-4 (41.87m).

Schumaker captured the third All-American honor of her career by placing third in the women's javelin at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.

Shumaker hit a throw of 158-5 (48.28m) on her final attempt of the afternoon (Saturday 26) to vault herself to the best finish of her career. That throw was just six inches from her season-best mark and earned her the tie breaker to move pass the thrower of Central Missouri into third place. The junior from Gladstone, Ore.

(Gladstone HS) has now taken sixth, eighth and third at Nationals, in that order.
Seabre Church placed 12th in her first trip to Nationals with a throw of 136-1 (41.48m).
