United States history has seen a correlation between war and the overstepping of constitutional rights for what is said to be the sake of safety and national defense.   The current war on terrorism is by no means an exception to this rule and has seen the passing of legislation that has journalists, politicians and everyday U.

Black and Red Ball

The Pacific room at the Werner University Center (WUC) was filled with the colors black and red on the night of Jan. 22, 2012, for the Black and Red Ball.   The Black and Red Ball is an annual dance hosted by Western's  Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer  (GLBTQ) Community and the Triangle Alliance.

Book Review: “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green

"The Fault in Our Stars" is the first book in years I read in one sitting.   At just over 300 pages, that is not a huge feat, but this book demanded to be read.  Every time I flipped the page, thinking, "just one more chapter," only to read another line, another page, another chapter until I was forced to put it down for a moment to laugh or cry in equal parts.

Key Men’s Basketball players contributed up to 20 points each

The Men's Basketball team finished the weekend with a win against University of Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, Jan. 21, after a second loss in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) against University of Alaska Anchorage on Thursday, Jan. 19.  Alaska Anchorage beat Western 66-55, which was Western's second-lowest scoring game in a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II game next to scoring 53 points in the opening game against Chaminade University, according to the Western athletic site.
